Gas prices in Alaska: West Coast (excluding California) average and state gas tax

Alaska falls in the EIA's West Coast (excluding California) region, and that regional number is the most precise public figure available: $4.87 a gallon for regular for the week of October 26, 2026, a −13.9¢ weekly change. Every gallon sold in Alaska includes 27.3¢ in state and federal taxes: 8.9¢ goes to the state, 18.4¢ to Washington. That ranks the state 51st out of 51 for gas taxes.
