Gas prices in New Mexico: Gulf Coast average and state gas tax

The EIA doesn't publish a weekly gas price for New Mexico on its own, so the closest official figure is the Gulf Coast average: $3.70 a gallon for regular in the week of October 26, 2026, −8.2¢ from the week before. On top of the pump price, New Mexico charges 18.9¢ a gallon in state gas taxes and fees, 49th highest of 51. Add the federal 18.4¢ and taxes come to 37.3¢ a gallon, roughly 10% of the average price shown here.
