Gas prices in Virginia: Lower Atlantic average and state gas tax

The EIA doesn't publish a weekly gas price for Virginia on its own, so the closest official figure is the Lower Atlantic average: $3.83 a gallon for regular in the week of October 26, 2026, −2.8¢ from the week before. On top of the pump price, Virginia charges 42.4¢ a gallon in state gas taxes and fees, 9th highest of 51. Add the federal 18.4¢ and taxes come to 60.8¢ a gallon, roughly 16% of the average price shown here.
